India vs West Indies 4th T20I match preview
The India and West Indies T20I series is approaching its end, and the Windies need a win to keep their hopes alive. India will be buoyed by edging a close affair in Indore, showing their ability to bounce back.
Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad is a historic ground for India. The Men in Blue made 297/6 against Bangladesh here in 2024, with a century from Sanju Samson. The West Indies have negative memories of posting 207/5 at the same ground in 2019, with India chasing it in 18.4 overs. If India win here, they’ll add to their 2-1 ODI series victory over the Windies. They are also the reigning T20 world champions after a 96-run win over New Zealand.
IND vs WI series so far
India vs the West Indies has been a tit-for-tat encounter so far. India took the first fixture, led by captain Shreyas Iyer, who hit his first T20I century. India won by eight wickets with 32 balls to spare.
The West Indies took the second fixture, levelling the series at 1-1. This time, Windies captain Shai Hope led from the front. He scored 102 not out as they chased 249/5 and won by six wickets.
India lead the series now, after a fairly even third match. India won by 14 runs, and Arshdeep Singh was the star man. He claimed a scalp when restricting Hope to just five runs this time around.
Hyderabad pitch report and Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium T20I record
Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad has hosted four T20I fixtures, though one was ultimately washed out. India have a 100% record here, winning all three completed T20I matches. That includes their 2019 win against the Windies by six wickets and the 133-run win against Bangladesh in 2024. India beat Australia by six wickets here in 2022. The Rajiv Gandhi Stadium pitch report points to a venue that suits chasing under lights.
Early forecasts from the BBC suggest a warm, dry day in Hyderabad, with 33°C and humidity sitting at around 49%. Previous matches suggest that this will be a high-scoring fixture, and we’re setting a winning par score of 200. The fairly short boundaries and flat surface will appeal to the batsmen. However, the pitch also supports bowlers using spin to their advantage.
IND vs WI probable playing 11 and players to watch
India will see this as their chance to clinch the series, while the West Indies will want to stay in contention. For that reason, both sides will likely field their full-strength 11s. Here are our predicted IND vs WI 11s, which will be confirmed at the toss.

India players to watch
Sanju Samson will look to recreate past performances from this ground and score big once again. After his Bangladesh century, all eyes will be on his performance with bat in hand.
Tilak Varma will return to his home of Hyderabad as vice-captain, adding some local flavour to the proceedings. He will need to put behind him the mistake that saw him run out by Shai Hope in the previous fixture.
Mayank Yadav is one of the most explosive bowlers in international cricket. Regularly clocking up speeds of 150km/h, Mayank will look to use the dry pitch to his advantage here.
West Indies players to watch
Shai Hope had a poor showing with the bat in the third fixture, but was directly involved in three important dismissals. As captain, his leadership will be required once again, and his performance in the second fixture will be the blueprint.
Shamar Joseph possesses great pace, and that’s reflected in his T20I bowling records. He has 39 wickets from 28 matches, and could pass the 40 mark here.
Romario Shepherd is a reliable hand when it comes to death-overs batting. He didn’t get the chance to step up to bat in the last fixture. However, he hit three sixes in Ranchi as he helped the Windies win.

Top batter, top bowler and total runs markets
The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium is a ground with precedent for high scoring. Games here are good picks for a number of cricket proposition markets. Betting on the over in the over/under total runs market provides good value outside of the match winner market. Elsewhere, Shai Hope and Shreyas Iyer feature heavily in the top batter markets for their respective sides. Arshdeep Singh could be a value pick for top bowler following his strong showing in fixture three. The short boundaries of the ground make team sixes and highest opening partnership markets worth a look.
